Tech-Savvy Agents Will Prosper
Others may go the way of travel agents.
(Mountain Lakes, NJ, August 16, 2018) — Homes.com President David Mele says agents aren’t going away any time soon. But he predicts agents who don’t embrace technology are in danger.
Mele puts a new twist on the long-standing fear that real estate agents could go the way of travel agents.
That hasn’t happened, but he sees tech-savvy agents prospering and others disappearing. "Technology-enabled agents are going to replace non-technology-enabled agents, but technology will not replace the agent," Mele says.
One obvious way that agents fail to use technology: Neglecting to set up automated responses to leads.
"It’s actually the minority of agents who are doing that," Mele says. "We have a real problem with response time."
