Real estate veteran shares advice for broker/owners

Tom Kunz, senior vice president of market development for German brokerage Engel & Völkers talks to Real Estate Broker’s Insider about his career and his business philosophy.

(Boonton, NJ, May 15, 2013) — “You’ve got to know the numbers.” That’s the advice from Tom Kunz senior vice president of market development for Engel & Völkers.

In a wide-ranging interview in Real Estate Broker's Insider, Kunz provides advice for today’s real estate professionals. It’s all about the numbers and the relationships, he says.

“Both brokers and agents don’t know their numbers. They don’t know the numbers about the marketplace. They don’t know their own office’s numbers. They don’t know their competitors’ numbers. You’ve got to know the numbers,” and he continues, “you’ve got to get focused on the consumer. Too many agents forget about the consumer after the sale is over. If you keep in touch, a lot of your prospecting work is done for you.”
