Note to Realtors: Focus on Facebook
Social media expert advises real estate agents and brokers to save their time on Twitter and focus on Facebook.
(Boonton, NJ, November 26, 2013) — A social media expert says you and your agents shouldnt bother with posts on Twitter. A Google guy says local newspaper and broadcast ads can work well with your online marketing.
That sort of unexpected advice illustrates the increasingly complex world of modern marketing, a world where you and your agents must reach clients through old-fashioned means, such as newspaper and TV, and through new methods, such as iPhone and iPad marketing.
The November issue of Real Estate Brokers Insider newsletter included this and other contrarian advice for todays brokers.
For example, Michael Glazer, cofounder of Back At You Media, a company that handles social media campaigns for real estate companies recommends focusing on Facebook and not bothering with twitter.
I have yet to see a real estate agent sell a house on Twitter, he says.
But that Facebook page must be well designed and bustling with activity. The idea is to post content that your fans like and comment on, because that sort of activity is crucial to search engine optimization (SEO) — how high your page shows up on Googles search results.
More tips and advice appear in the November issue of Real Estate Brokers Insider.
